Conservative-controlled Barnet Council and its Planning Department seem determined to foist inappropriate developments on our area.  Anyone doubting this should refer to the recent New Barnet Town Centre Strategy Consultation.  This reveals the determination of the Council to try and create a high-rise New Barnet with supermarket-led retail expansion - in the face of widespread local opposition.

The Local Development Framework which was published for consultation at the end of 2009 also encourages the destruction of family houses along East Barnet Road and Cat Hill to make way for more blocks of flats.
